Common Mistakes: Why do you not see any progress?

Common Mistakes: Why do you not see any progress?

Do you feel like you are doing everything right, but your progress has slowed down, hit a plateau, or even worse, you do not see any progress at all?

It does not mean you cannot be successful, as frustrating as that might be. Chances are, you are just making some common mistakes that you might not be aware of it.

First, access what you are currently doing (BE HONEST) and determine if you fall guilty to any of the following scenarios:

❌You are not counting for all the extra bites, licks, and tastes of food, which can add up to quite a bit of excess calories over time. *Half donuts do count*

❌You are on track most of the week, but you are way overdoing it on the weekends. Unfortunately, a few days of excessive eating can knock you right out of your deficit.

❌You are overeating all the healthy foods, like avocado, nuts, dried fruit, and olive oil.

❌Trying to eyeball portion sizes and being way off in your estimates.

Now, if you swear that you have all that in check, then some other not so common reasons you might not be seeing results:

❎You are prioritizing cardio over strength training. Sure, cardio burns calories, but it does nothing to change your physique’s shape and firmness. So yes, you might get smaller, but you will not become any more toned unless you are lifting.

❎You might be killing it in the gym, only to be sedentary for the rest of the day. Exercise does not burn that many calories, but all the extra movement you do throughout the day. Aim to hit 10k steps per day.

❎If you diet for too long, your metabolism will take a hit, and the number of calories you burn will decrease. Now you must eat even less, which is not sustainable.

❎Too little sleep and too much stress will not necessarily lead you to gain weight, but it will increase hunger and cravings and decrease willpower, making it more challenging to stay in a deficit.

And finally, one primary reason is you have not been at it long enough, or you are not as consistent as you need to be. Remember, real SUSTAINABLE fat loss takes TIME! Be patient and trust the process! You have got this!
